Why there are clearance deals

Items often go on clearance because they are being discontinued, too many are in stock, they are not selling well, or they are nearing their expiration date. No matter the reason, you can benefit from clearance deals.

Where to look for the clearance deals

Some stores have them well marked with big signs. Some stores have them in a centralized place. Other stores might have them scattered throughout. Don’t be shy and ask a store clerk where you can find them.

When to check out clearance deals

If the clearance deals are in one spot in the store, then like to check the clearance section first. That way I can see if something I am looking for is already marked down there. Many times, another version of what you want is in the store at the regular price. But a perfectly acceptable version or even exactly what you are looking for can be marked down at a significant discount. So be sure to find the clearance deals before you make your final purchase selections. Also ask a store employee when things move to the clearance section. Many stores have a particular day or schedule for markdowns.
